WEEK 17 - Final Pitching Experience

For this week, we are done with the final pitch for our startup idea. We have already made our Final Pitch powerpoint presentation, the Final Business Model Canvas, and the Final Video Demonstration. The final pitch presentation was held via Google meet. It was facilitated by our instructor and one of her colleagues as one of the judges for this event.  Our team was scheduled around 10:45 in the morning with a 15 minute interval between other groups. Our team entered the Google meet link around 10.15 so that we know who's group is next. Upon entering the Google meet, I noticed that most of my classmates attended the Google meet presentation despite the instruction that attending the meeting was optional if it was not their turn. While waiting for our turn to present, I managed to listen to some of the questions and answers of the other group. Sir Marbert was the one who questioned the group presenter and at the same time gave feedback and recommendations on how to further improve o...

WEEK 16 - Consultation / Updates

This week is our final consultation. For our consultation, we were scheduled around 3:00 pm Monday since all the Tuesday slots were taken. It was 3:05 when we started the consultation because we were still waiting for the other members to join in but eventually only one team member came. I then proceed presenting my slides. The slides I am presenting during the consultation were the slides that I have made before during the initial pitch plus the edit that I have currently made since the last pitch. I have incorporated some of the suggestions from the previous pitch deck presentation but there are some slides that I am not quite sure about. After I was done presenting, it was now the instructor's turn to comment on our progress so far. The instructor noticed that there are some missing slides on our presentation, especially the slides for the traction. There was also a part of our slide that was misplaced or was not in order so I need to fix that also. The instructor said that they...

Cawil.AI is an industry-agnostic artificial intelligence solution that provides AI driven business solutions integrated to web, mobile application, and industry automation. They focus on computer vision artificial intelligence to impact decision making for businesses, and to create an inclusive society. Next speaker is Mr. Kenno Michael Uy. WEEK 14 - Lecture Series and Update

For this week we were tasked to watch another lecture series from the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology. The topic for this week's lecture series was all about Corporate and Strategic Entrepreneurship. The first speaker for this lecture is Ms. Luchi C. Flores. She is a country representative of Passerelles numériques, Philippines. It is a French Non-governmental organization created in 2005 in Cambodia. The first part of her discussion talks about known corporations both here and abroad. She also talked about the strategy and innovations done to their products. She then proceeds to discuss "strategic entrepreneurship".  In strategic entrepreneurship, you only keep in mind two things, identifying opportunities through innovation and managing the resources and innovation efforts. Corporate and Strategic entrepreneurship does not necessarily mean putting something together and building a new business out of it because it would likely fail but instead looking into ac...

WEEK 13 - Lecture Series and Update

For today's activity, we were tasked to watch a lecture series conducted by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology. The theme for today's lecture was about Entrepreneurial Finance and Venture Capital and the speakers for this lecture were Mr. Noel T. Macaya and Mr. Virgilio M. Fuertes. Mr. Macaya is an entrepreneur while Mr. Fuertes is a supervising research science specialist of the Department of Science and Technology Region X. Mr. Nacaya's discussion about pricing was not audible and I have a hard time listening to his discussion but somehow I manage to get some of his thoughts on pricing. He shared with us that prices differ depending on what platform the product is located on. Prices are 20% to 30% higher in food deliveries than prices located at a physical store. This is because food delivery services charge product placement and other fees such as delivery and service fees.  The next presenter is Mr. Fuertes, his topic is all about support for innovators. Thr...

WEEK 12 - Updates on Traction / Consultation

Image
For this week we are updating the status of our traction. So far we have gathered a few likes and shares from our page ever since we created the page a few weeks ago. There were comments like that the application was nice, that they would love to try it. During also our consultation we have also discussed our ongoing customer interview to verify new and existing customer segments. These additional interviews will greatly help narrow down our targeted audience. We have further enhanced our efforts on spreading our Facebook page. As of now there are approximately fifty likes for our Facebook page but for our post about the application, it almost reached to about a hundred people and counting. We are still promoting our page to our friends and other people who would be interested on our application. We have also tried other platforms in our marketing efforts like Twitter.

WEEK 11 - Minimum Viable Product, Launching and Traction

For this week we are making our Minimum Viable Product, Launching and Traction. The MVP is a version of a product with just enough features to be usable by early customers who can then provide feedback for future product development. The goal of MVP is to avoid lengthy and (ultimately) unnecessary work by iterating on working versions and responding to feedback, challenging and validating assumptions about a product's requirements. In creating our Minimum Viable Product, we have decided to use a platform called Figma. Figma allows you to create designs and mock-ups of your desired application by using text, shapes, colors, images, and important tools that are available on the platform. Not only that, once you are done creating the mock-up designs you can animate them just like how it would like in the actual device once it is installed. It was easy to use and very intuitive in terms of functions and the availability of tools for prototyping. After signing up for an account at Figma...
