WEEK 7 - Making of the Pitch Deck

For this week we have been very busy preparing for our midterm examination and completing midterm projects and for this subject Technopreneurship 101 our midterm exam or project will be pitching our idea to our instructor. This pitching would be a culmination of all the data that we have gathered starting from the interviews that we have made from the first week down to the sixth week which is customer and market validation.

In making the pitch deck, only a summary of the data is to be presented since the allotted time for the presentation is only limited to five minutes. It was a tough task to condense all information that we gathered into a five-minute presentation composed of ten slides at maximum. Eventually, I was able to select only the important data to present thanks to the guidance of our instructor in formulating our pitch deck. Aside from what our instructors have thought I have also done some research on how to pitch an idea for a startup. I have found out that there are several ways to do a pitch deck but one common rule that they always follow is that it must be brief, concise, and straight to the point. Words in a slide must also be observed. It must not be wordy or full of sentences but use phrases instead. The business model is also highlighted with figures so that it would look appealing to future investors of the project or startup. Aside from that, a short comparison of the features of other competitors is also added to the presentation. Market size should also be added to the presentation. This is just an overview of the potential customers the application would be catering to. Values must be stated and data source of data should be provided to give an accurate estimate of the data. The traction, which is the actual representation of our product, is not necessary for now as stated by our instructor but eventually, we will be needing a wireframe during our pitch deck on the final term.

As of now, we are still on the stage of refining our pitch deck, adding information, and removing irrelevant data making sure that we can maximize the limited time we have during the presentation.
